Tracy Notes About This Show

We offer costumes that are in the best tradition of the D'Oyly Carte company. On occasion, our garments may even have come from that collection, since we were fortunate to be able to acquire some before the company was closed in the 1980's.

Plot Synopsis

Ruddigore is the only village in the world with an endowed corps of professional bridesmaids, "on duty every day from ten to four" and its castle under the cloud of a curse, which requires the incumbent baronet to commit one crime each day under penalty of excruciating agony. Attempting to surrender the title and its inconveniences, Sir Ruthven Murgatroyd disappeared and attempted to start life anew as Robin Oakapple, farmer. His courting of the village belle, Rose Maybud, is unsuccessful, however, due to his shyness. His foster brother, Richard Dauntless, returning from sea after a ten-year absence, promises, to plead with Rose in Robin's behalf. At first sight of her he decides to woo her for himself. Rejected, he seeks vengeance by revealing Robin's identity to Despard, present holder of the title. Freed of his responsibilities, Despard marries Mad Margaret and becomes a director of a National School. Robin, now a bad baronet, tries to avoid his responsibilities, but his ancestors step out of their frames and threaten him unless he redeems himself by abducting a young lady. After an unsuccessful attempt to kidnap Dame Hannah, Robins discovers a way to end the curse...and the operetta.

The question is: Do you have a minimum order or do we have to rent a whole show?

We believe you should be able to order one hat, two props, an entire show, or anything in between - it's one of your basic theatrical freedoms.
