Fair Use Policy

Tracy Theatre Originals publishes low-resolution versions of play posters and script covers.

Licensing Copyrighted

The images used are copyrighted material, most likely owned by either the publisher of the work or the artist(s) which produced the play or cover artwork in question.

Fair Use

The use of these images qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law under the following rationale.

  • The images used are low resolution.
  • Copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the poster artwork.
  • No free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information.
  • The images do not replace the original market role of the play poster or script.
  • Its use here does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the play poster or script in any way.
  • The image has previously been published and is freely available elsewhere on the internet.
  • The image contributes significantly to the article by illustrating the subject of the article.
And by the way...

The answer to our very most frequently asked question is - NO!!!

The question is: Do you have a minimum order or do we have to rent a whole show?

We believe you should be able to order one hat, two props, an entire show, or anything in between - it's one of your basic theatrical freedoms.
