We usually costume Shakespeare's works with an Elizabethan flavor unless otherwise specified by the play, but will understand, forgive, and do our best to supply any of his works in any period & location you specify. We offer a very traditional set of costumes for this show - the Greeks are Grecian, the faries are styled with tops to echo the medieval surcote, with "wings" evolving from the cotes fabric in the back, and fairy ears on caps. Request our Showplot™ for details and ordering. We offer two different styles of the ASS HEAD for Bottom - see our Showplot™ for details. We created parts of costumes for the mechanicals as they perform their little play that are made of yarn, as might be available back then - a wig with earrings and dress for Flute who plays Thisbe, a lion's mane for Snug, and a wall poncho for Snout.
Plot Synopsis
A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy by William Shakespeare. It is believed to have been written around 1594 to 1596. It portrays the adventures of four young Athenian lovers, a group of amateur actors, their interactions with the Duke of Athens, Theseus, the Queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta, and with the fairies who inhabit a moonlit forest. The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world. (Wiki)
