Plot Synopsis

The flamboyant Albin...known on the stage as Zaza...and the more conservative Georges are middle-aged lovers who have been together for over 20 years. Their domestic peace is shattered when Jean-Michel, Georges' son as a result of a youthful indiscretion, advises his father that he plans to wed the daughter of Edouard Dindon, a local morals crusader. In order that Georges appear an upstanding citizen, he agrees that Albin must somehow be put back in the closet. Though hurt and defiant Albin swallows his pride and aids the deception by dressing up as Georges' wife. After revealing that he is what he is, Albin is not above a little blackmail to force Dindon to permit the marriage to take place.
