Disney version of the fairy taleTracy Notes About This Show
All the Tracy ENCHANTED OBJECTS are created as structures that are not too heavy or uncomfortable to wear, and allow for as much movement of the actor inside as possible. Additionally, we built all of them to be shippable by UPS, to keep rental costs reasonable. Per the instructions in the script from Disney, we have based our designs on the cartoon characters rather than the Broadway characters. We have created an easy to use ROSE PROP with falling petals, and a duplicate for the old beggar woman to hand to the Beast in the prologue. We have also created a prop to make the magical transformation of the BEGGAR WOMAN into the enchantress possible for amateur groups to accomplish.
Plot Synopsis
The stage version of Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. Your audiences will be transported to the heart of provincial life in a lovely French town. When Maurice becomes lost in the woods on the way to the fair, he seeks shelter in an old castle, but the master of the castle is a horrible beast that takes him captive. Maruice's daughter, Belle, must then give up her freedom to save his life. Belle's taming of the unfortunate Beast and his ultimate transformation back into a handsome prince enthralled Broadway audiences for over 13 years. (MTI).
