The fun of designing the clothes for this show lies in the jokes and sight gags. The angels' opening dresses are specifically designed to allow them to pose for the photographers as they board the ship, and suggest the wings that angels ought to have. The "Fred and Ginger" influence is certainly there, and the influence of the glamorous part of the 1930's is everywhere!
