Our splendid costumes for this great musical were designed by Paul Tazwell, in his last project before he became a member of the designers union and began designing costumes for Broadway.
Plot Synopsis
Henry Higgins finds Eliza Doolittle, (a Cockney with very poor grammar), selling flowers in Covent Garden market after the opera, and wagers with his friend Col. Pickering, that he, Higgins, can teach Eliza to speak like an upper-class Londoner. The bet is that she will not be recognized for what she is at the upcoming Embassy Ball. Many lessons follow, and Eliza fools everyone at the ball, only to learn that Higgins has no plans for her now that he has won the bet. Finally he decides he loves her, and convinces her to stay with him.
